I'm the Co-Founder and Head Chocolate Maker at Raaka Chocolate.

What vegetable best describes your personality and why? 
Celeriac. It’s rough and fuzzy on the outside, but sweet and mild on the inside.

Share a favorite memory or experience with fruits + veggies:
I used to help my grandmother pick edible flowers from her garden to garnish soups and salads with. That really sticks with me. When I think about making food (or chocolate) beautiful, I think of that.

Anything you want people to know about?
Most things you consume are tied to a commodity agriculture system that has nothing built into it to positively effect the environment or people. Doing your best to support businesses that are trying to operate outside of the commodity system helps ensure your money is being used on projects that do take into account social and environmental impact.

Favorite kitchen tune to cook along to?
Given that we make dark chocolate here at Raaka, and given that it's one of the best songs of the year, I'll go with "Bittersweet" by Lianne La Havas.
