Candied Honeynut
All treat, no trick! We took to the kitchen to candy up our Honeynut Squash just in time for spooky season.

honey
apple cider vinegar
olive oil
kosher salt
black pepper
onion powder
five spice
cinnamon
sliced almonds
Prep + Cook
Preheat oven to 400℉.
Wash 2 honeynut squash, cut off tops and bottoms, halve both, and take out the seeds with a spoon. Cut the squash halves into half inch wide half circles.
Add the following to a large mixing bowl: Three tablespoons honey, 1 teaspoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar, ½ teaspoon salt, 2 pinches of cinnamon, 2 pinches of five spice, 1 pinch onion powder, 1 pinch of pepper.
Whisk above ingredients together and add the honeynut half circles. Toss the slices and add them to a parchment lined baking sheet. Drizzle the leftover liquid from the mixing bowl over the honeynut squash slices.
Bake at 400℉ for 40-45 minutes. Flipping slices over halfway through.
Garnish with sliced almonds and a sprinkle of cinnamon and salt.
