2020 Pandemic Donation Report

Learn about our efforts in action to help feed our neighbors

Ark Foods has a long-standing history of donating surplus vegetables to food bank partners directly in our hometown of NYC, and across the United States. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic alone, we have donated over 250,000 pounds of produce to key partners, including City Harvest.

Our relationship with City Harvest stretches beyond the 2020 pandemic, with a record of ongoing donations of fresh produce whenever we have extras to spare.

Food banks in the U.S. have faced triple (and in some places 10x) the demand for food during the pandemic. With schools closed, many children are missing two daily meals that are now no longer guaranteed.

Through strategic and widespread donation efforts, we remain aware and engaged, and stay true to the Ark Foods ethos by continuing our commitments of making vegetables accessible to all. We’re in it for the long haul.

If you’re interested in fighting hunger and food waste, we’ve compiled resources to help you get started.
